In March this year, as part of our educational campaign, I placed 15 laminated SNAP posters in 13 locations in the small town of Mount Vernon, Lawrence County, MO. Before placing the poster(s) I met with the manager/owner/key employee of the facility, asked for permission, and asked if they could leave the poster up for at least 6 months. Everyone agreed, and in November I went back to all of the locations to see if the posters were still there, and to get feedback on whether they were being noticed. This article reports back on that status of these posters, and the feedback I received.
In summary, most of the posters are still in place and all still look good (because of the laminating). 76% of the locations (10 of the 13) still had the posters up (or still had them and were planning to re-post). Only the 3 locations no longer had the posters, however 2 of those locations had had the posters up for months and only recently removed them. Only 1 location did not leave the poster up for a significant period of time (that location is not included in this article).
Many thanks to all of the Mount Vernon businesses who so willingly placed the posters in their stores and facilities!
